During a summer sunset in 2019, I photographed my daughter riding her bike at our home in Cumberland. My husband had been sweeping the driveway when I looked up and noticed how brilliantly the sun was illuminating the dust. I had my daughter park laterally in front of where the sun was setting. A few feet behind her I had my husband sweep to stir up some dust (and then hide behind a tree) to create this captivating setting.
This particular moment serves as a reminder to us all that life is an adventure, beautiful, and full of magic. The only way to see the beauty in what would otherwise be mundane is to slow down and allow ourselves to see it.
