In 1812, Deacon Jeremiah Blanchard built the house at 15 Blanchard Road for Mary Ann Pittee, a widow.
In 1849, her son-in-law Samuel R. Sweetser purchased property from the Blanchard’s estate for $190 and transformed it into the thriving Sweetser orchards.Â
